Janice Odom
Vice President for University Advancement

Janice Odom joined The University of Texas-Pan American as Vice President for University Advancement on November 1, 2008.

Ms. Odom came to UTPA from The University of Texas at San Antonio where she last served as assistant vice president for Advancement Services. Prior to that position, she spent seven months as UTSA’s interim vice president for University Advancement and also served during her tenure at UTSA as director of planned giving, director of foundation relations, director of annual giving and as associate director of development for the College of Liberal and Fine Arts.

Prior to joining UTSA in 2000, she spent six years at UT Pan American, where she held director positions in University Relations, Stewardship and Annual Giving, and Alumni Relations and Special Events.

Ms. Odom, who holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of North Texas and a master’s in counseling from New Mexico Highlands University, has been involved in every phase of university advancement during her 40-year career in higher education, including 38 years in advancement management – development, alumni programs, special events, and communications, including broad experience in public affairs, publications, and Web and multimedia.
