Career Services is divided into three programs designed to assist students
throughout their time at The University of Texas-Pan American.
Graduating Students/Alumni Program
The
Graduating Students/Alumni Program focuses on those students within one
year of graduation, graduating seniors, graduate students and
alumni. Students can also sign-up for job interviews being held
by many of today's top companies. Many of these interviews are
held on campus to accommodate students' schedules. Special activities
are also held for all UT-Pan American students and alumni in preparation
for the career search. These include Career Day, Teachers Job
Fair, Health Sciences and Human Services Career Day, Graduate
and Professional School Fair, Internship and Job Expo, Career
Styles Fashion Shows and several job search technique workshops.
Cooperative
Education Program
The
Cooperative Education (Coop) Program at UT-Pan American offers
students an opportunity to gain work experience in an employment
situation directly related to their major course of study and
assists students in meeting educational, professional and personal
objectives. Students are encouraged to register with our program
to receive the fullest assistance possible.
Student
Employment Program
The
Student Employment Program is a referral program designed
for the development and promotion of off-campus opportunities
for college students. The purpose of the program is to list
off-campus positions available for students and employers free
of charge. A number of local businesses and agencies contact
the office seeking students.
Career
Information Center
The
Career Information Center houses sources of occupational information;
registers and directories; information on hundreds of different
companies, school districts and government agencies; fellowship/scholarship;
and graduate/professional school catalogs. Also found in
the Career Information Center are various job vacancies from the
local area and across the country.
Job
Search Counseling
Career
Services staff members are available for one-to-one
sessions to discuss your resume, interviewing skills and general
job search questions you may have.
