Candi Roxas Candi Roxas assumed the position of Executive Director of Marketing in February 2006. She is responsible for working with various UTPA divisions and departments on the marketing/branding activities of UTPA. Prior to this position, Ms. Roxas was the Executive Director of Development, responsible for the Development Office, which includes the Development Office, Alumni Relations and Career Placement Services. Ms. Roxas was the Associate Director for Business Development at the Office of Center Operations and Community Services (CoSERVE), University of Texas-Pan American from October 1998 to September 2001. The business development group is comprised of the seven centers: One Stop Capital Shop, Small Business Development Center, Minority Business Opportunity Committee, Community Outreach Partnership Center, Veterans’ Business Outreach Center and Women’s Empowerment Business Center. Ms. Roxas was responsible for over 30 employees and a budget in excess of $1 million. Ms. Roxas holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas–Pan American and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with an emphasis on Marketing Management from De La Salle University, Manila, Philippines. Ms. Roxas has served on various university committees including the SACS Leadership Team for the reaffirmation of accreditation, Institutional Planning Committee and the Tuition Website Committee. Ms. Roxas was a member of the first group of Leadership Pan American, a Meadows Foundation of Texas initiative to grow leaders among the faculty and staff at the university in 1990. Roxas was given the first SBA District Director’s Award in 1990 for her service with the SBDC. Roxas took a hiatus from the university from 1991-1998, working as a product manager with IMS Canada, a market research company dealing with pharmaceutical sales, then with a software provider for warehousing and distribution packages. She then started a marketing consulting business, working with small independent software companies. She created marketing programs, including brochures, flyers and concept design for their trade show participation.
